2009 NASCAR PREDICTION REVIEW - Before the Chase

I predict we will find out that more cost saving ideas will surface throughout the season.  -Well so far not as many as I was hoping for...

I predict that teams will be fighting for the all mighty sponsors and more teams will be piecing together sponsorships similar to what Yates did in 2008 with one to six race packages.  - This one has seen some light of day but may be more noticable next season.

I predict that more emphasis will be placed on the tracks in the Chase.  Teams will use their cars to test setups during the first go around for the tracks that have two shows in a year. - Still waiting for the Chase to see if this pans out

I predict that Chad Knaus will get suspended for "rules infractions". - Well he hasn't been caught yet

I predict that if the tracks don't make some concessions in ticket prices that we will see more empty seats. -TRUE- Indy already cut prices and I have heard of a few more tracks that have but haven't had time to verify it.

I predict that Stewart-Haas Racing will only have one car in the top 35 in points after the first five races. - FALSE - SHR is doing much better than I think anyone predicted

I predict that the Truck races will be just as entertaining as in 2008. - TRUE -

I predict that a "Buschwhacker" (cup driver) will not win the championship in the Nationwide Series in 2009. - TBD -

I predict that "Shrub" (Kyle Busch) will not have more than five wins in each series that he races in 2009. - FALSE - already has 6 in the Nationwide.... the rest however is still in the running

I predict that Michael Waltrip will say something stupid.  Ok that is a given but I wanted to see the reaction that will come from a certain fan..... - TRUE - but at least he has the brains to get out of the drivers seat for next year.

I predict that Jamie McMurray will be the focus of plans to move the fifth Roush team to Yates at the end of 2009. - TRUE - now as long as the sponsorships get settled, that is the plan.

I predict that Junior will win a race in dominant fashion in 2009, unlike his questionable fuel win of 2008. - TBD -

I predict that Jimmie Johnson will see the nose cone of many more cars in 2009. - Well.... TBD - maybe some wishful thinking here...

I predict that Jeff Gordon finishes 12th in points in 2009, and has another kid. - TBD - he is looking better this year, sure to make the Chase, but one more wreck and that back may take him to 12th.

I predict that Brian France will "tweak" the Chase or points system at the end of 2009. - TBD -

Finally, I predict that Carl Edwards will win the Sprint Cup in 2009. (your welcome Edwardsfan99) - TBD -

Three races left before the Chase and it is a mixed bag, two have been kicked to the curb but several still are out there.  Some with promise and others not so much.Good season so far, one prediction is that the Chase will surprise us all.

NASCAR Record? ? ?

The #28 started the year with sponsorship problems and has racked up an impressive number of primary sponsors over this season.

At my last count there have been 14 different sponsors on the #28 this season and that does not include the Yates website or  the 11 Million logo that was on the car early in the season.

My question to all of you:  Is this a NASCAR modern era record for number of primary sponsors on one car?
