Favre Is No More - New Name Contest

The QB I loved is no longer there, consumed by the Dark Side is he.
Forever I will remember him as he was, not as he is now. -Jedi

So if Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader when he was consumed by the Dark Side.  What should Brett Favre's new name be?

Post your suggestions and I will pick the official one for the Packers - Vikings game on October 24th.

My first stab is : Lord Indecision

Which NFL team do you most want to beat?

  1. Bears
  2. Vikings
  3. Cowboys
  4. Patriots
  5. Colts

So which team do you want to beat the most?

I am leaning toward the Vikings.  As a Packer fan there has been so much BS with the Favre saga that I can't wait for the season to start.  Being from the southern half of Wisconsin we would normally pick the Bears, especially after the last couple years not fairing well against them.  But FIB's aside the Vikings have been too much a part of the whole Favre debacle and they need to go down, Period.

Sorry this is not in poll form, haven't figured that stuff out yet.

Favre's Ego Takes Him To NY

Well by the transcript of the Packers Thursday afternoon press conference it looks like the main reason is that Brett felt dis'ed and didn't think he could put all of himself back into the "awkward" return to the Packers.  I'm sure that his agent didn't help as he is looking at the last year(s) of his star player and moving him could bump up his return.  Inflating Bretts ego was easy, now he has to help Brett handle the hounds of NY.  Good Luck Bus Cook, you'll need it.

In the end it came down to communication and timing.  If this had all happened two months ago there may have been time to patch it up.  The communication broke down because the Packers seem like they really never thought that Brett was really serious in coming back to play.   And who would blame them as they have been down this road several times before.  Brett and Bus the only ones to blame for that.  If they were really serious earlier on they should have come to Green Bay and sat down face to face and set up the come back plans.  Brett could have easily worked out in the Packers facility but did he want to?  He said he didn't like the preparation and now he doesn't have to worry too much about training camp as preseason schedules have already kicked off.  He can play and put up with the day to day in between.  Good Luck Brett.

Packers finally move on.

I decided that the day the Favre trade was announced would be the day to start a new Blog.

Now that Brett has landed in NY, there is a weird sense of grieving and relief at the same time.  By Monday the state can refocus on the Brewers trying to make a run at the playoffs, Packers training camp and the youngest, most talented team in the NFL and the upcoming Badger Football season with a preseason ranking of 12th.  Those that know me here also know that I follow NASCAR and this area will definitely see some posts on that too.

So Long Brett, we wish you well and you will always be a Packer.
